How to Reduce Stress and Work Smarter Not Harder (Part 2 of 3)


Welcome back to Part 2 of this week’s Blog Article about how to reduce stress and work smarter not harder. Last week I revealed the ‘secret weapon’ that smart High Achievers use to play and stay at the top of their game so they can create and maintain a healthy mind, body and business. This week I am going to tell you more about Hypnotherapy, how it works and the benefits. So without further ado let’s get started.

The Secret Weapon

What is Hypnotherapy?

So what is Hypnotherapy you may ask yourself…! Well you have probably heard all sorts of things about hypnosis, most of which I am sure are totally untrue but more about that in the third and final part of this series of Blog Articles next week. The fact of the matter is that when hypnosis is used on its own, it does nothing more than provide temporary relief from stress and anxiety and relax you (if you allow yourself to relax that is). It is the actual ‘therapy’ that is carried out whilst the client is in the hypnotised state, known as ‘Hypnotherapy’ which is the important part. When hypnosis and Hypnotherapy are used together, you can create positive change and improve your life for the better – provided you are truly committed and motivated to achieving your goals.

The Subconscious Mind

Hypnotherapy is totally different from any other therapy because it works directly with the subconscious part of the mind. This is the part that makes us think, feel and react to things automatically without us giving them much conscious thought e.g. breathing and swallowing.

The Belief and Expectation System

Have you ever tried to change something about yourself only to find that you keep on reverting back to the same old negative, destructive, frustrating ways of being? It might be checking and responding to your emails at a set time once per day rather than every time one drops into your Inbox, so you can be more effective and productive. Or taking regular short breaks throughout the working day so that you can recharge and re-energise your mind and body and return more focused and efficient.

The reason you will be struggling is because the subconscious and conscious parts of your mind are working against each other, so the harder you consciously try to change things, the more your subconscious mind resists – even if the changes you are seeking to implement are for the better. Make no mistake, this is the most powerful part of your mind because it contains your belief system. So you need to get your subconscious mind working for you otherwise you won’t be able to work smarter, and will have a constant battle on your hands which will keep you working harder and make achieving your goals far more difficult than is necessary.
